ABOUT

Stephanie holds an MA in the History of Art from University of London, Birkbeck College and a BA in Art History from San Diego State University. She’s worked in arts institutions in both the US and UK. Originally from New York, she's been living in and around London for nearly two decades and considers herself a  native (although her American accent gives her away). Her two sons and black & white cat provide plenty of material and inspiration for the fiction she writes including everything from picture books about polar bears and middle grade ghost stories to young adult and adult crime thrillers.

She enjoys nothing more than a good old Victorian ghost story, especially at Christmas. Twisty thrillers and cosy crime novels run a close second. Favourite authors include, Stephen King, Shirley Jackson, Agatha Christie, Andrea Camilleri, Celia Fremlin, Hilary Mantel, Michelle Paver, M.R. James, Charles Dickens, Kate Atkinson, Michael Morpurgo, Susan Hill, Kat Ellis, Cynthia Murphy, E.F. Benson, P.D. James, Amy McCaw... to name a few.

In her spare time she enjoys strolling along the Thames, visiting historic houses (preferably haunted) and museums, collecting (and reading) classic ghost stories and chilling with her boys.

Her Happy place? The Arctic! Any place on earth were there is snow! Nothing better than cosying by the fire with a good book and a cuppa after a lovely brisk walk through the winter wonderland.
